Cafe Brunch Budapest - Bazilika
A negyedik Cafe Brunch éttermünk megnyílt Budapest belvárosában, a Zrínyi utcában. 70 fős teraszunkról panorámás kilátás tárul a Bazilikára. Az éttermünknek otthont adó gyönyörű klasszicista épület hajdanán a Festetics család belvárosi palotája volt. Most a Középeurópai Egyetem (CEU) épületcsoportjához tartozik. A légkondicionált éttermünk befogadóképessége 65 fő.

St. Stephen's Basilica and Zrínyi Street: A Glimpse into Budapest's Rich History and Architectural Splendour
Budapest, the capital city of Hungary, is renowned for its stunning architecture and historical landmarks. Among its many gems, St. Stephen's Basilica and Zrínyi Street stand as testament to the city's rich history and cultural heritage. These two iconic attractions offer visitors a captivating journey through time, showcasing architectural marvels and captivating stories that have shaped Budapest into the vibrant metropolis it is today.
Standing majestically in the heart of Budapest, St. Stephen's Basilica, or Szent István Bazilika as it is known in Hungarian, is one of the city's most significant religious sites. Named after Stephen I, the first King of Hungary, this magnificent basilica is a testament to the grandeur of neoclassical architecture. Construction of the basilica began in 1851 and lasted for over 50 years, with the final touches completed in 1905.
Upon approaching the basilica, visitors are greeted by its impressive facade, adorned with intricate sculptures and elegant columns. The central dome, reaching a height of 96 meters (315 feet), dominates the Budapest skyline, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city from its observation deck. Inside, the basilica's interior is equally awe-inspiring, with its lavish decorations and ornate design. The main altar, crafted from exquisite marbles and adorned with intricate mosaics, is a sight to behold. One of the basilica's most treasured relics is the Holy Right Hand, the mummified right hand of King Stephen I, which is displayed in a glass case for pilgrims and visitors to admire.
St. Stephen's Basilica is not only a place of worship but also a venue for cultural events and concerts. Its exceptional acoustics make it an ideal location for musical performances, attracting renowned artists from around the world. The annual St. Stephen's Day celebrations, held on August 20th, draw thousands of locals and tourists to witness the grandiose fireworks and enjoy the festive atmosphere surrounding the basilica.
Leading from St. Stephen's Basilica, you can stroll along Zrínyi street, all the way to the Danube and the Chain Bridge. This vibrant street named after Miklós Zrínyi, who was a Croatian and Hungarian military leader, statesman and poet, is full of great restaurants and cafes. Among others you will find our breakfast restaurant here called Cafe Brunch Budapest - Bazilika, about half way between St. Stephen's Basilica and the Chain Bridge, on the corner of Zrínyi street and Nador street.
